The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) hosted the Digital Skills Framework Roundtable, with the participation of several senior executives across Qatar’s priority sectors. The meeting aimed to develop a practical and unified standard for the national digital workforce. This initiative supports the objectives of the Third National Development Strategy and contributes to the implementation of the Digital Agenda 2030.
The event brought together representatives from the manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, financial services, education, and ICT sectors. Discussions highlighted the role of technology adoption in reshaping the job landscape beyond traditional IT functions, driven by global trends, including a 195% increase in demand for generative artificial intelligence and digital skills.
Participants also examined Qatar’s robust performance in international benchmarks, noting its ranking of 20th globally and 2nd regionally in the IMD Digital Competitiveness Ranking 2025, in addition to its 40th position globally in the Coursera Global Skills Report 2025.
The roundtable featured interactive stakeholder sessions focused on identifying key roles and skills, assessing current upskilling practices and performance metrics, and identifying shared challenges. This approach contributes to enhancing the effectiveness of workforce development programmes and accelerating the implementation of the Digital Skills Framework.
The meeting provided a comprehensive introduction to the Digital Skills Evaluation platform, which aims to measure individual proficiency levels and award verified Digital Falcon, in addition to introducing the Digital Skills Label, granted annually to organizations demonstrating sustained commitment to capability development.
