The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has announced the signing of a partnership initiative with GSMA Advance, the skills development arm of the GSMA, to further enrich the training programs offered by Qatar Digital Academy. The partnership will strengthen specialized learning tracks and ensure they keep pace with global developments in telecommunications, information technology, and digital transformation.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of MWC25 Doha. The initiative was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology by Ms. Doha Al-Buhendi, Director of the Digital Community and Digital Skills Department, while it was signed on behalf of GSMA Advance by Mr. Mr. Robert Puglielli General Manager Events at GSMA.
Duha Al Buhendi, Director of Digital Society and Digital Competencies, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, said: “The partnership with GSMA Advance strengthens Qatar Digital Academy’s efforts in developing competencies and promoting continuous learning. We aim to empower our workforce with the latest technological skills to drive innovation and achieve the objectives of the Digital Agenda 2030, reinforcing the Qatar’s position as a regional hub for digital excellence.”
Mr. Robert Puglielli, General Manager of Events at the GSMA, said: “This partnership, launched alongside MWC25 Doha, will further strengthen the learning pathways offered by Qatar Digital Academy in alignment with Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030. By equipping Qatar’s ICT workforce with the latest digital skills and knowledge, we aim to support the country’s digital transformation and contribute to sustained economic growth.”
The initiative will introduce advanced, internationally accredited learning pathways and develop training content aligned with global developments in the ICT sector, including skills related to artificial intelligence, next-generation communication networks, data management, and cloud technologies.
This initiative forms part of the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen national human capital and build a highly skilled workforce capable of keeping pace with rapidly evolving technological trends. It is also fully aligned with the objectives of Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030, which places digital capability development at the core of its strategic pillars.
The partnership initiative further builds on the academy’s long-standing track record of training and upskilling thousands of participants across government and private entities through a wide range of advanced programs covering foundational, intermediate, and specialized digital skills.
