As part of its ongoing mission to accelerate digital transformation across government services, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the General Authority of Customs (GAC) have announced the digital auctioning of over 100 lots of goods via the “Mazad Al Jomrok” platform. The auction will run until 3 July 2025, and aims to empower citizens and businesses within Qatar to access government auctions easily and transparently through an integrated digital platform that allows users to explore listings, place bids, and complete transactions via a secure and digital platform.
MCIT played a key role in designing and developing the “Mazad Al Jomrok” platform through its TASMU Smart Qatar Program, as part of its mandate to drive digital transformation and implement smart solutions across government sectors. The platform aims to digitize auction processes and enhance the efficiency of warehouse management. By automating the entire customs auction process—from product evaluation to secure payment—the platform helps improve efficiency, reduce operational costs, increase the frequency of auctions, and broaden public participation, ultimately benefiting the wider community.
This innovative plaform underscores the Ministry’s commitment to delivering smart government solutions that digitize public services, reduce administrative overhead, and promote efficiency and transparency. It also reflects Qatar’s commitment to achieving operational excellence through innovation. Mazad Al Jomrok aligns with the goals of Qatar’s Digital Agenda 2030 and its broader vision to enhance government services, improve citizen engagement, and support a digitally empowered economy. The platform is fully integrated with national systems such as warehouse management tools, and the Al Nadeeb Clearance System, ensuring a seamless and secure end-to-end experience.
Commenting on the announcement, Dana Al-Muftah, Head of Smart Applications at MCIT, said: “The ‘Customs e-Mazad’ platform showcases the power of smart government innovation. Through this platform, we are not only optimizing government processes but also empowering citizens and businesses to engage in a transparent and inclusive digital marketplace. This plaform is part of our broader commitment to supporting our Digital Agenda 2030 and enabling a diversified digital economy that delivers tangible value to the public.”
Abdulrahman Ahmed Al-Obaidly, Head of the ‘Mazad Al Jomrok’ platform at the General Authority of Customs, said: “This reflects GAC’s commitment to innovation and operational excellence. ‘Mazad Al Jomrok’ platform allows us to execute our mandate more efficiently while extending access to a broader audience. We are proud to offer a secure, user-friendly, and fully digital solution that improves transparency and ensures fair access to customs auctions in Qatar.”
The platform offers an administrative portal, which enables GAC to manage every stage of the auction process. This includes evaluating goods, creating listings, overseeing live bidding, and processing payments. Equipped with advanced analytics, the portal supports data-driven decisions and strengthens oversight across the auction lifecycle.
The platform also provides an integrated digital experience for individuals and businesses within Qatar. Once logged in, users can explore listings, set alerts, place bids, and manage transactions via a personalized dashboard that improves transparency.
Mazad Al Jomrok mobile application is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Interested participants may also access the auction via the official Mazad Al Jomrok website. To register, users must hold a valid Qatar ID and log in through the National Authentication System (NAS), ensuring a secure and trusted experience.
