The Ministry of Transport and Communications aims at strengthening its vital role in achieving a comprehensive national development through ensuring the adoption of best practices and standards and fostering innovation in order to drive economic diversification. The Ministry’s strategy is derived from Qatar National Vision 2030, taking into account the development and provision of world-class transport and communications infrastructure and services to enhance the quality of life in Qatar.
Transport and communications sectors play a critical role in enhancing the economic and social development in Qatar, contributing to the advancement of all other sectors through increasing productivity, ensuring a competitive environment, creating new business models, providing state-of-the-art technologies, developing sustainable infrastructure, maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs.
The efforts, which the Ministry has invested in developing the various sectors of transport and communications, have resulted in satisfactory growth rates that enabled Qatar to maintain advanced global rankings. Such persistent efforts have also contributed to the expansion of ICT usage among Government entities, businesses, households and individuals.
