\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) participated in the first day of Web Summit Qatar 2026 through its joint booth with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, reflecting the Ministry\u2019s commitment to supporting the digital innovation ecosystem and reinforcing Qatar\u2019s position as a regional hub for technology and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n The first day saw strong attendance at MCIT\u2019s booth by visitors, startup representatives, entrepreneurs, and international delegations, highlighting the growing interest in the initiatives and programs led by the Ministry in the fields of digital transformation and innovation. Through its pavilion, MCIT showcased a range of national initiatives and programs supporting digital transformation, in addition to digital solutions and projects that underscore its efforts to develop digital infrastructure, enable innovation, and strengthen the digital economy.<\/p>\n MCIT\u2019s programme at theatre opened with a session titled \u201cQatar\u2019s Digital Agenda 2030: Building a Knowledge-Based Digital Economy\u201d, which addressed ways to translate the Digital Agenda\u2019s objectives into tangible outcomes in terms of jobs, skills development, and economic impact. The session also highlighted MCIT\u2019s role in supporting this transformation through strategic pillars and national programs. On the sidelines of WSQ, six agreements and strategic partnerships were signed between MCIT and several national and international entities. These included the launch of the Digital Transformation Roadmap for the Healthcare Sector in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, as well as the signing of an agreement with Oracle to expand the Government Dedicated Cloud Region and renew the support contract for the period 2025\u20132028. The agreements and partnerships also covered areas related to supporting innovation accelerators, empowering small and medium-sized enterprises, and developing digital solutions, further advancing digital transformation and innovation across several priority sectors.<\/p>\n In addition, Ms. Eman Al Kuwari, Director of the Digital Innovation Department at MCIT, participated in a panel discussion titled \u201cSovereign AI: Building technology in a fragmented world\u201d, held as part of Web Summit Qatar 2026.
