The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Meets Canada’s Minister of AI and Digital Innovation to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

His Excellency Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, met today, October 15, 2025, with His Excellency Mr. Evan Solomon, Canada’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in Communications and Information Technology and Innovation and Digital transformation.

During the meeting, the Ministers reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and Canada, which span more than fifty years. They praised the progress achieved in areas of mutual collaboration. They discussed opportunities for cooperation in high-performance computing (HPC), the exchange of expertise in digital infrastructure, and artificial intelligence (AI), including the development of national talent and knowledge sharing in this vital field.

The Ministers also exchanged views on cooperation in digital policy development, supporting tech entrepreneurship, and capacity building in digital innovation. Both sides agreed to move forward with finalizing an MoU that will provide a framework for future collaboration, further strengthening the digital partnership between Qatar and Canada, and advancing their shared goals.
