Studio 5 Illustrates a Distinctive Digital Presence at Expo 2023 Doha

Studio 5, a program by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), had an exceptional presence at Expo 2023 Doha. This participation comes in the frame of MCIT’s commitment to train the youth in Qatar and motivate their innovation, which is a critical step towards sustainable economic development and social progress that aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030’s goals of fostering a knowledge-based economy through technological innovation and education.

Studio 5 witnessed an outstanding turnout of 15,216 visitors, and it actively engaged with 90 schools as it conducted 58 workshops, including 25 specifically designed for the schools, which emphasized the program’s deep-rooted commitment to educational outreach. These efforts directly benefited 2,358 students, equipping them with hands-on experience in digital fabrication, coding, and IoT. Furthermore, these efforts nurtured essential skills such as critical thinking and problem-solving. The program’s participation also included 7 professional development sessions aimed at educators, to help them enhance their ability to integrate technology into the learning environment effectively.

Studio 5’s impact was not limited to workshops and educational sessions. The program also hosted two hackathons, encouraging participants to apply their skills in competitive and collaborative settings to develop innovative solutions. Moreover, the showcasing of eleven projects highlighted the practical applications of the skills learned, as well as Studio 5’s role in driving technological innovation. Additionally, ten special events served as spaces for sharing entrepreneurial thinking, leadership, and collaboration among educators, innovators, and students, promoting an environment of learning and creativity.

Through its distinguished achievements at Expo 2023 Doha, Studio 5 embodies MCIT’s commitment to developing the skills of the youth through technology, thus fostering a knowledge-based economy, and by empowering the next generation with the tools and knowledge needed to innovate. Studio 5 is paving the way for a future where education and technology blend to create a thriving, adaptable society.
