The State of Qatar participated in the GCC Ministerial Meetings hosted by the State of Kuwait, where the Qatari delegation was headed by H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, with the participation of representatives from government entities concerned with digital transformation in the GCC countries.
The 29th meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Post and Telecommunications in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries discussed a number of strategic topics related to the development of joint digital infrastructure and the enhancement of cooperation in the fields of telecommunications and postal services. It also addressed regulatory policies that support innovation and the development of advanced communication and postal services that benefit citizens of the GCC countries.
The 9th meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for e-Government reviewed the latest developments in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and innovation in government services, in addition to showcasing successful national experiences in building integrated digital systems that contribute to improving the quality of public services.
The ministerial meetings held in collaboration with the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) also discussed future prospects for cooperation in supporting digital transformation and empowering entrepreneurs, as well as the Organization’s role in strengthening regional and international collaboration.
The meetings concluded by underscoring the commitment of the GCC countries and the Digital Cooperation Organization to coordinate joint efforts to accelerate the digital economy and advance technological innovation, thereby promoting regional integration and building a progressive digital future that supports sustainable development and economic prosperity in the region.
