MCIT Participates in The Annual Meeting of the State Procurement Program 2026

As part of its efforts to strengthen cooperation among state institutions and enhance integration towards developing the national procurement system, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) participated in the Annual Meeting of the State Procurement Program 2026, organized by the Ministry of Finance from 20 to 22 October 2025, with the presence of various government entities, national companies, and private institutions.

The Ministry’s participation witnessed wide interaction from participants and visitors, as it presented a comprehensive overview of its 2026 procurement plan, highlighted its future projects in the fields of digital transformation and digital infrastructure development, and shed light on its efforts to localize supply chains and expand opportunities for national companies to participate in government projects.

The Ministry’s booth at the forum stood out with the presence of representatives from both the public and private sectors. Direct orientation sessions were held with companies interested in collaboration. The Ministry’s team highlighted key initiatives and projects, procurement mechanisms, and upcoming opportunities in future digital projects. These sessions contributed to opening new horizons for cooperation and partnership in support of a knowledge-based national economy.

Dr. Bashayer Merdef Al-Qashouti, Director of Financial and Administrative Affairs Department at MCIT, emphasized in her remarks that the Ministry’s participation reflects its commitment to advancing government procurement practices in a way that enhances transparency and efficiency while expanding opportunities for national companies. She noted that through the forum, the Ministry seeks to open new avenues of collaboration with local suppliers and support national businesses.

The Ministry concluded its participation by reaffirming the importance of continuing efforts to develop the government procurement system in line with the state’s digital transformation, fostering innovation, and building a knowledge-based digital economy through the adoption of modern methodologies that improve spending efficiency and enhance governance and transparency in resource management.
