MCIT Concludes the Second Edition of the ICT Joy Masters Ramadan Esports Tournament 2026

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in collaboration with the Qatar Esports Federation, concluded the second edition of the ICT Joy Masters Ramadan Esports Tournament 2026, held from 22 to 24 February, with broad participation from employees of the ICT sector, reflecting the spirit of connection and teamwork embodied during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

At the conclusion of the third day of competitions, Mr. Sami Mohammad Al-Shammari, Assistant Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Operations Affairs, honored the winners in each category in recognition of their outstanding performance and competitive spirit throughout the tournament.

The tournament was conducted in an individual competition format across the Majors category and the Juniors (under 18) category, ensuring participation opportunities for different age groups. The tournament was supported by its Supporting Sponsors, namely: Qatar Postal Services Company “Qatar Post”, Google Cloud, Qatar Satellite Company – Es’hailSat, and the Qatar Esports Federation. The organization was further supported by Qatar Racing Club, Store 974, Geekdom, and Promo Vision, whose contributions ensured the successful delivery of this edition and enhanced the overall level of participation and organization.

In this context, Mr. Khalid Taiss Aljumaily, Director of Public Relations and Communication Department at MCIT, stated: “The ICT Joy Masters Ramadan Esports Tournament reflects the Ministry’s commitment to organizing initiatives that combine professional engagement with community interaction, strengthening ties among ICT sector employees in a positive competitive environment. This second edition builds on the success of the first and reaffirms MCIT’s dedication to supporting events that align with the growing interest in esports, while reinforcing the values of connection and teamwork embodied during the Holy Month of Ramadan.”

Aisha AL-Obaidly, Manager of Communications and Marketing – Qatar Postal Services Company “Qatar Post”, stated: “Our participation in the Ramadan Telecommunications Esports Tournament stems from our belief in supporting initiatives that strengthen the integration between technology and community. Esports today go beyond entertainment; they represent an interactive platform that enhances strategic thinking, teamwork, and decision-making skills. The tournament aims to encourage interest in esports and provide a competitive platform that contributes to the development of digital skills in the State of Qatar. Through this tournament, held during the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Ministry also seeks to promote community engagement and foster an environment that combines healthy competition with the spirit of connection and solidarity that characterizes the blessed month.
