His Excellency Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, held several high-level bilateral meetings with ministers, industry leaders, and accompanying delegations participating in the inaugural edition of MWC25 Doha which is being held for the first time in the MENA region organized by GSMA in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
The meetings and discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in various fields, including developing technological innovation, fostering digital skills, and accelerating national digital transformation efforts. The meetings also explored potential joint initiatives to drive the digital economy forward and equip talent with the capabilities needed for the future.
His Excellency the Minister’s meetings included:
- His Excellency Mr. Kamal Shehadeh, Minister of the Displaced of the Republic of Lebanon, and His Excellency Mr. Bilal Kabalan, Ambassador of Lebanon to the State of Qatar, to discuss areas of mutual cooperation.
- The senior leadership of VEON Group, including CEO Mr. Kaan Terzioğlu, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Ms. Marine Babayan, and Director of Government Relations Mr. Khaled Nasser, to explore opportunities for collaboration in digital innovation and future technologies.
- His Excellency Engineer Mohammed Ben Amor, Director General of the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO), and Mr. Firas Jaballi, Chief Financial Officer, to discuss joint efforts supporting regional digital advancement.
- Ericsson executives in the presence of His Excellency Mr Gautam Bhattacharyya, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, to enhance cooperation in ICT development and digital transformation initiatives.
- Bassam HajHamad, Country Senior Partner and Consulting Leader at PwC Qatar, along with PwC Middle East leadership, to review strategic opportunities in digital economy growth and emerging technologies.
