An official delegation from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) visited the United Nations headquarters in New York City, USA, to enhance direct cooperation with the United Nations, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the United Nations University, in addition to research and coordination to develop and improve indicators for the State of Qatar, specifically the United Nations e-government index. The Qatari delegation was headed by Ms. Mashael Ali Al Hammadi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Information Technology Affairs at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, with a number of officials in the Ministry (Dr. Hassan Al Derbasti - Director of Planning and Quality Department, Mr. Abdulla Al Emadi, Mr. Yousuf Al Sahlawi, Mr. Ali Al Kubaisi).

The Qatari delegation met with senior officials and experts in the United Nations and discussed ways to improve indicators related to digital government in Qatar, and insights were provided on global trends in the areas of digital government, sustainable development, integrated electronic services, citizen engagement, open government data, and the use of emerging technologies such as Synthetic technology, data analytics, cloud technology, APIs, and the Internet of Things.

Commenting on the results of the visit, Ms. Mashael Ali Al Hammadi, head of the Qatari delegation, said, "This visit is an important opportunity to review Qatar's most important achievements and successes in the field of digital government for these prestigious international institutions, as well as enhance the Ministry's knowledge of how international organizations evaluate member states and understand global trends in In this regard, in addition to strengthening cooperation with experts in the United Nations and direct access to the latest plans and strategies to improve government services, which will reflect positively on the country's evaluation in the upcoming surveys of the digital government index."
